For many years, I struggled immensely with procrastination and had trouble getting started working toward achieving my biggest goals.
I could envision what I wanted to achieve with my health, life, and business, but I was incredibly overwhelmed by the amount of work it would take to get there. I knew I wanted to lose weight and start exercising, but I dreaded the idea of giving up my favorite foods or going to the gym. I was very excited about my ideas for building an online business, but I couldn’t get myself to shift from just thinking about them into actually working on them.
Focusing on the end goal was not an effective strategy. ❌
Everything changed when I stopped focusing on the end goal and instead started focusing on building simple, easily repeatable, enjoyable routines that I had no problem repeating daily.
Instead of focusing on how much weight I wanted to lose, I focused on creating a simple, repeatable routine that would help me become healthier that I didn’t hate. After testing out a few different ideas, I settled on my new routine of making slightly better choices every time I ate and moving my body every day in a way that I found fun.
Because this routine was simple and easily repeatable, and I didn’t dread doing it, I could easily stick with it. Thanks to this simple routine, over the next two years, I went on to lose 100 lbs and get into the best shape of my life.
With my online business, I started testing out many ideas and strategies on a tiny scale that didn’t overwhelm me. Once I found a successful routine that was simple, easily repeatable, and something I didn’t hate doing, I started to repeat it daily.
Over the next several years, I generated over $1.5 million in sales as a direct result of this simple routine.
By shifting my focus away from the end goal and onto creating simple, enjoyable, repeatable routines, I finally stopped procrastinating and achieved my biggest goals. 💪
