I am a terrible dancer.
Recently, I was invited to join one of my friends for a fitness dance class after my regular workout routine. Even though I can’t dance to save my life, I said yes without hesitation.
Why? Because I know magic happens when I step outside of my comfort zone.
Sure, stepping outside your comfort zone can be scary and downright uncomfortable.
Here are three reasons why you should do it anyway:
• It Is A Fantastic Way To Grow As A Person. When we stick to what we know, we limit ourselves and miss out on new experiences. So why not try something new? Maybe it’s a new hobby, new food, or even a new hairstyle. Who knows, you might just surprise yourself!
•It Can Be Incredibly Empowering. When you conquer a fear or try something that scares you, you feel like a total boss. Suddenly, that thing that seemed impossible doesn’t seem so scary anymore. You might even start to feel like you can take on the world!
•It Can Be A Whole Lot Of Fun. It might be nerve-wracking at first, but once you get the hang of it, being outside your comfort zone can be a total blast. You might even discover something new that you’re incredibly passionate about!
As expected, I was terrible at keeping up with the dance routine. Regardless, I shook my body the best way I knew how and was laughing and having fun the entire time.
I left the gym in a fantastic mood and was productive and smiling all day.
I can’t wait to go back again soon!
