Today is Day 27 of my challenge to write and publish an essay online every single day for 30 days in a row.
I’m getting so close to the finish line.
Yet, today, I just don’t feel like writing.
It’s been a tough day. I’m tired.
If there was ever going to be a day that I threw in the towel, this would be it.
Instead, though, I’m remembering this quote that I’ve always loved:
“If you get tired, learn to rest, not to quit.” – Banksy 💪
I’m not going to quit. I’m not going to give up on myself and my goals just because I’m tired.
Instead, I’m going to acknowledge that my gas tank just isn’t full today, and I’m going to prioritize rest over crafting the greatest online essay of all time.
I’m still showing up for myself and my goal by getting these words spit out on the page, but today instead of giving my writing my all, I’m simply showing up and getting it done.
It’s not realistic to expect 100% from yourself every single day, and that’s okay!
If you want to achieve your goals, you have to learn to prioritize rest when necessary. 😴
Otherwise, there’s a good chance that you’re going to get burnt out and quit.
With that, I’m going to hit publish, shut down my computer, and go curl up under my favorite blanket on my favorite chair with my dog in my lap. If you need me, I’ll be resting.
