Are you feeling overwhelmed by how much you need to get done today? Does there never seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done? I used to feel this way all the time.
Thankfully, one incredibly simple piece of advice finally put an end to my constant overwhelm:
Schedule Time For “Chaos” Into Every Single Day. 🕒
Sean D’Souza of Psychotactics.com introduced me to the concept of “Chaos Planning.” The idea is quite simple: unexpected interruptions and tasks frequently pop up for all of us throughout each day.
Sean schedules a large chunk of time just for “chaos” right into his daily schedule. He uses that time specifically to deal with any unexpected interruptions or tasks.
When I started to block out time in advance in my daily schedule to deal with chaos, I immediately stopped feeling frantic whenever something unexpected popped up because I knew I already had time set aside to deal with it.
As an added bonus, on those beautiful days when absolutely no chaos occurs in my world, I’m able to wrap up the day early and celebrate that I got everything done ahead of schedule. This feels so much better than ending each day feeling defeated because I didn’t get everything done.
I am so grateful that I came across this advice. If you like this idea, I highly recommend checking out Sean’s “Chaos Planning System” book at Psychotactics.comfor his detailed chaos planning strategy that will completely change your life.
